This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the Sheriff's Office or the court that issued the warrant directly.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Questions about an East Carroll Parish warrant are answered by the office that holds the record, and that office depends on where the case started. A district charge and a town ticket live in different files, and a warrant entered in one is not visible in the other. Start with the list below, and have a full legal name, a date of birth, and any citation, cause, or warrant number ready before you call.
- Whether a warrant exists, or who serves it: East Carroll Parish Sheriff's Office, (318) 559-2800, or the Annex at (318) 559-2071
- A district-court criminal case: East Carroll Parish Clerk of Court, (318) 559-2399, which keeps the Sixth Judicial District Court files
- A Lake Providence ticket or ordinance matter: Lake Providence Mayor's Court at Town Hall, 201 Sparrow Street, (318) 559-2288
- A parish or precinct justice matter: East Carroll 1st Justice Court, (318) 282-0614, which is the published contact route for the court
- A late ticket before you pay online: call (318) 559-3944 first, which is the instruction posted beside the sheriff's ticket payment link
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: a licensed Louisiana attorney and the court that issued the warrant, since only that court can recall it
The Sheriff's Office is the parishwide law enforcement agency and handles the courthouse and the Annex at 301 First Street, Lake Providence, LA 71254, with a mailing address of P.O. Box 246, Lake Providence, LA 71254. The office number is (318) 559-2800, the Annex number is (318) 559-2071, and the fax line is (318) 559-2567. Published counter hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Riverbend Detention Center is reached at (318) 559-5980, and the sheriff's site also lists (318) 559-3447. The inmate roster on the sheriff's website is custody information only, not a warrant list.
The East Carroll Parish Clerk of Court keeps the criminal, civil, juvenile, and domestic files behind Sixth Judicial District Court matters and sits at 400 First Street, Suite 3, Lake Providence, LA 71254. The office number is (318) 559-2399 and the fax line is (318) 559-0037. The district court hears cases in Divisions A and B, and the court's own pages list a Division A number of (318) 574-2712 along with a Court Administrator and language access line at (318) 574-2635 for interpreter and translation help. Ask the clerk's office whether the case file shows a warrant, an attachment, a missed appearance, a bond forfeiture, or a recall, and ask which division entered it.
Lower-court matters stay with the court that set them. Lake Providence municipal cases are handled through the Mayor's Court at Town Hall, 201 Sparrow Street, (318) 559-2288, and the town clerk or court can say whether the matter is a citation, a failure-to-appear attachment, a warrant, or a payment plan. For a parish justice matter, the 1st Justice Court is reached through (318) 282-0614, and the published directory does not list a street address or counter hours for it, so call before traveling. The Sixth Judicial District Attorney's Office is at 310 Morgan Street, (318) 559-6340, and runs a voluntary traffic diversion program for some minor speeding cases that meet its terms.
A written request can also be made under the Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq. Address it to the office that keeps the record, describe the record you want rather than asking for a conclusion, and ask for a written response. A custodian may withhold or redact material that another law protects, including juvenile records and some investigative files, and R.S. 44:32 provides for a written determination when the public status of a record is questioned. Keep any response you receive, and do not send sensitive documents to an email address you have not confirmed with the office first.
